Hi,
Im running OpenSUSE 11.1 with KDE 3.5. I wanted to install the latest NVIDIA driver, so I downloaded the 32bit english display driver on their site.
I installed this file the following way
- installed package "Kernel-source and gcc"
- opened a terminal as "su"
- gave command "init 3"
- browsed to driver location
- gave the command "sh NVIDIA-drivername.sh"
- let the installation compile a driver for my kernel and/or x server
- after installation gave the "init 5" command
- system boots KDE 4.1??! WHY??
the driver is installed perfectly, only problem is that KDE 4.1 is started after installation, while I installed the system with KDE 3.5.
Is it possible to switch back to KDE 3.5, or do I need to reinstall my computer, if so how do I avoid making the same mistake again.
tnx, Wouter
