NVIDIA Driver problem..

Everytime i reboot, and try to start X, i get an error, the only way to fix it is to re-install the NVIDIA driver. I'd like to know if anybody knows how to fix this.. installing that driver everytime i reboot isen't exactly fun.

What is the error?

This happened to me too. Try just opening and then saving the XF86Config-4 file, without making any changes, then doing a `startx`. After a few boots doing this the problem seemed to sort itself out on my box. Are you running 10.0 CE? Had you been messing^H^H configuring sound or other kernel modules? Which NVidia drivers do you have installed? Which card do you use?

I'm gonna install 10.0 Official later on tonight, maybe it's a bug in the Community Edition? ...

I'm using 10 offical (download version) I have a Geforce DDR, using the diver on NVIDIA's site (dunno the version, but it's filename is NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run) i can't remember what the error says, i'll make note of it next time i reboot, and i'll try your suggestion about opening/saving the XF86Config-4 file. thanks.

Probably you have to load the module nvidia : modprobe nvidia and run x. To do it automatic when you reboot, add nvidia in the file /etc/modules.
