I had the same problem and I solved this way.
NVIDIA drivers have problem with the malloc function, so a guy found out how to workaround the problem.

Actually I still have a problem, 'cause the nvidia module don't boot at startup. it looks like the nvidia line in modprobe.conf is skipped.
i simply wrote "modprobe nvidia" in rc.local and everything goes fine. I know it's an orrible solution, but at the moment I've got no better ideas. :scratch:
