ntp problem

I am trying to get a RHEL 4.1 to update clock from I believe a cisco router. Internal network is 36 seconds behind world clock
(which my RHEL box had been updating against). Note "strata too high" below. I am not sure how to fix that other than trying to force a new time with ntpdate, but that didn't seem to work.

ntpdate -d 192.168.1.1

2 Sep 11:27:34 ntpdate[17486]: ntpdate 4.2.0a@1.1190-r Thu Oct 5 04:11:32 EDT

Then this doesn't work either:

ntpdate 192.168.1.1

2 Sep 11:32:42 ntpdate[17994]: no server suitable for synchronization found

ntp.conf:

Code:
restrict default nomodify notrap noquery

restrict 127.0.0.1

restrict 192.168.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0

Your server is, as the error states, a strata 16, i.e. officially useless. fix the server and have it at least fudged to a lower strata, and then clients will use it.
