ntop compile/post-compile problem?


i've d/l the source for ntop it ran ./configure etc with no problems as far as i know?, when i try to run it it says
[######@localhost ~]$ ntop
Tue Dec 28 20:17:53 2004 Initializing gdbm databases
Tue Dec 28 20:17:53 2004 **FATAL_ERROR** ....open of /usr/local/var/ntop/prefsC ache.db failed: Can't be writer
Tue Dec 28 20:17:53 2004 Possible solution: please use '-P <directory>'

Does the user you are running as have access to write to that directory?

think so i've ran chown -R tom:tom ntop

hmm.. i've redone the compile and get this message.
Tue Dec 28 22:19:35 2004 **FATAL_ERROR** ....open of /usr/local/var/ntop/prefsCache.db failed: File open error
