NTFS and knppix

Hello All

One of my servers (DELL PE 2550)crashed last night and I would to see if i can recover the information stored in the hard drives using knoppix. According to me the File system is NTFS, I looked it up on a website.

When I run knoppix it can not mount the hard drives it tells me that it can not determine the file system and that it needs to be spesified. My questions is how to I make knopix read a NTSF patition. Can someone help please.

Which version of knoppix are you using? The latest Knoppix should have read the NTFS partition by itself w/o any input from you. If it didn't, its most probably crashed. try mounting it from console using the auto option.
