# 45 .

Generally : 99% of ns2 simulations will work with a 32bits OS.
However the most versions of ns2 / extra protocols will also work with 64bits.
* But always with an inferior validate result. ( ns-2.xx/validate ).

The most Aqua-Sim simulations will work with Ubuntu 12.04 - 64 :
"uwan-mac-random.tcl" is failing with `Segmentation Fault', in my test.
The other <.tcl> seem to work OK : 11 of 12 examples in ns-2.30/uw_tcl/.

64bits compilers gcc34 / g++34 for Ubuntu 12.xx .. 13.xx :
compat-gcc34 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...it?usp=sharing
compat-g++34 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...it?usp=sharing
.. Install the compilers :
$ sudo dpkg -i compat-gcc34-3.4.6-ubuntu1204-1_amd64.deb compat-gcc-34-c++_3.4.6-20_amd64.deb

Get the latest Aqua-Sim http://ubinet.engr.uconn.edu/aqua_pa...ua-Sim-1.0.tgz

$ mkdir Aquasim
$ cd Aquasim/ && tar xvf Aqua-Sim-1.0.tgz
$ export CC=gcc34 CXX=g++34 && ./install

# 47 .

1) Only you can know if there are differences between your two times "Ubuntu 12.04",
and 2) the differences in the way that you build "Aqua-Sim-1.0.tgz".

The error indicates that you are using the wrong gcc.
( Or a corrupt Aqua-Sim-1.0/ ).
