Not shown the message


I use "ls *.prn" in a directory , if there is no matched file , it wil shown message "ls: *.tmp: No such file or directory" , if I don't want any message shown even no matched file , what can I do ? thx

The "No such file or directory" is an error, so you can redirect it like this:
ls *.prn 2> /dev/null
Then you won't see (any) error messages
