Noob guide to apache?
I installed mandrake like 2 days ago and I'm getting used to the linux environment, but when I wanted to get a server running I was lost as hell trying to get anywhere. I installed the apache package from the mandrake cd and the documentation, but I have no clue where the documentation installed to or how to set it up from here. I'm really just clueless as to where to get started.

hehe
search for the file apachectl (it controls Apache) run "apachectl start" to start the server To edit the config, edit the file /etc/httpd/httpd.conf or /etc/apache/apache.conf or something similar. See what you can find and edit with options. Good luck! |
I'm at work now, but when I get home I'll mess with it. I think im gonna start documenting everything I do so I can make things that are daunting to a noobie somewhat understandable.
