Non perl webmail
 

Is there any webmail software not based on perl, it seems that there are some problems with perl versions newer the 5.8.0.

There are lots of webmail packages written in PHP. Check Devshed for an article on writing your own (with the sample code included) or just search Google or sourceforge.

horde/imp (pure php) is superb, and looks really professional. certainly whups squirrelmail etc....

I'm a SquirrelMail fan myself, but mainly becuase it already works and I can't be bothered to change to horde/imp.
