noatun problems!
Hi!
I recently installed RedHat 8 and, from what I read on several forums, this distribuition does not come with the plugins to play mp3 files. I already downloaded an rpm from xmms.org in order to xmms player to work and it went perfect and I can now play mp3 files with this player. The problem is that noatun is my favorite linux player and I would really like to have it working. Is there a way to obtain the plugins for this player, similarly to xmms? I should also remark that when I try to open files from noatun, all the mp3 files are "invisible", i.e., mp3 files are non-supported files. I am sorry if this is an obvious question! (:newbie: ) Thanks for all the possible help! NELSON |
There is not a simple solution to this. Perhaps you have found a better mp3 player than noatun?

I know that for FC4, KDE-RedHat's "kdemultimedia" package has Noatun that will play MP3; otherwise Livna also has a "kdemultimedia-extras" which does the same thing. But I don't know of anything for RedHat 8.
