no video on vlc + google earth problem with compiz on new ubuntu intreped ibex

Hey

Ive just done the upgrade to the Intreped Ibex for my Ubuntu system and the upgrade seemed to go perfectly fine, but when i have my Advanced Effects (compiz Fuzion) turned on i cant watch video in VLC player (the sound works fine) it just shows a black screen.

Also Google earth is all flasshey, to the point where its on the verge of giving me a headache as i use it.

Im using a "Radeon 3870 512MB GDDR4 PCIE Dual DVI 775/2250MHz" Graphics Card, with a "Asustek S775 Intel P35 ATX GLAN" motherboard. And im using the "ATI/AMD proprietry FGLRX graphics driver".

How can i get VLC and Google Earth to work while my compiz fuzion is on?

Cheers

Nonc
