in my SUSE 11.0 KDE 4.0 system, i had installed Mplayer (filename MPlayer-1.0rc2.tar.bz2) .
when i tried to play a *.avi file i am getting only audio. To get the correct error message i had opened it in command mode.

$ mplayer video.avi
then i got this error

have u tried other players , or try to reinstall an check if its working
