no /var/spool/mail/kryptonite box

i've (i think) successfully configured postfix and fetchmail to connect to my e-mail client, the problem is when i run mutt or pine, i cannot get to my messages. Fetchmail tells me i have 11 new messages, but nothing has been configured to send anything to any mail directories or boxes. I assumed that would be a postfix problem, but a google search has lead me no where... how can i route the e-mail to a mailbox?
