No unreal tournament 2003 sound

Hey, I just installed Redhat and everything is going well. I'm getting much better performance in my games than I did with mandrake (I have NO idea why), but some sounds aren't working! Most sounds work, but a few games, particularly tuxracer and unreal tournament 2003, are not playing sounds. No error messages, just no sound.

I have:
Sound Blaster Live!
Redhat 9
AMD Athlon 1600+

lsmod ?

run /sbin/lsmod and you should have this:

emu10k1 68136 1 (autoclean)
ac97_codec 13544 0 (autoclean) [emu10k1]
sound 73108 0 (autoclean) [emu10k1]
soundcore 6276 7 (autoclean) [emu10k1 sound]

If you don't, then I suspect something to be amiss.

Oh yeah, they're all loaded (not exactly the same size as what you listed) cause my sound works fine is most applications.

Acctually i had the same problem in Redhat 9. Come to find out that KDE desktop was the problem. Switch to gnome and the sound works. No it isn't the patch that broke it. I have that installed as well. I am thinking about updateing Gnome cuz sound lags once in a while.
