No system tray detected
Whenever I start up my Linux Mint Cinnamon I get the annoying message "No system tray detected on this system, deleting". Have tried to google a solution, bad success. Anyone have a clue? When using Mate nothing similar happens, but I would prefer Cinnamon and I´m using the latest version of Linux Mint, if that matters...

Do you have any idea what application is sending that message? What system tray items display in MATE and not in Cinnamon?
Maybe a peek into your session startup applications list might give you a hint.
The only time I've gotten that message, I think, was from the HPLIP System Tray applet on certain window managers.

Yes. Its the HPLIP Status Service telling me that it is exiting (not deleting, as I told before). I tried to increase the start up delay for HP System Tray Service and HPLIP Toolbox, firstly from zero to five seconds, no result. Thereafter from 5 to 10 seconds, same thing. It seems that something else should be adjusted, but what?

I take a more primitive course of action. I just ignore the error. Icons in the system tray don't butter my toast, I guess.

Guess what!
Starting the computer in recovery mode seems to have solved the problem, no message any more. Hopefully it will keep.
