No style in non-KDE applications

(Debian Sarge 3.1, KDE 3.2)

All of my applications that are not KDE apps have a very very basic grey ugly style to them, ie: bg, buttons, everything except the titlebar - while KDE apps look as they should with the style I have applied in the Control Center

Edit: For example: XChat, context-menu of XMMS, Mozilla Firefox, Gimp, etc..

Any ideas why? It's like said style isn't getting applied to these apps

you need to download gnome-themes or gnome-themes-extras as well as gtk-theme-switch. The reason why your GNOME/GTK apps look like that is because they use different toolkits from KDE so you need to look for a theme thats almost similar to your KDE theme. I use Industrial for my GNOME/GTK apps because it fits in with plastik. Once you have downloaded gtk-theme-switch, you can use it to change the theme by running "switch" (for GTK) or "switch2" (for GTK2) at the command line.
