No spellcheck in OpenOffice

I just noticed that OpenOffice is not spellchecking my documents. I have checked to make sure that feature is turned on. I have 1.0.2 installed currently. I am going to update to 1.1.3 when I get home tonight. Anything else which I might try to get this fixed?

Do you have dictionaries installed so it knows what words to check against?

I have 2 dictionaries installed. Both are sun dictionaries that I am guessing were installed when I was originally running Star Office.
