I am having a problem. I run SuSE 9.3 Eval. and I have installed libdvdcss and w32codec-all, as well as the multimedia option packs, xine-lib1, divx4linux, xvid, and a52dec. Even so, and even after checking all of my volume controls in YaST, I still don't get sound, or, well, if I turn all of my volume up all the way I can hear something, just a little, but I also get feedback.
Furthermore, I get this funny noise too sometimes, it is partly a clicking sound. I have googled on this topic but so far I haven't found anything that seems to pertain to my isse.
My sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 4.1 and my speakers are connected using the analogue connections. Sound must be ok because when I use Xine-UI player it works more or less ok, just that voice isn't too good when playing the rental movies off of DVD.
I *have* installed libdvdcss as well.
Can anyone help me, I am having no luck with this so far, and not in other forums, either.
I disabled "normalize sound" and "enable equalizor", And now it is working. I wonder why those things were causing trouble.
Oh, and BTW, I have done extensive searching on the topic. I tried to edit the default control from OSS to AlSA, but the mcedit won't let me save my change. It refers to a AO -help but I couldn't find it. Don't understand why the equalizor of the program won't work... There must be a bug having to do with the equalizer, and, perhaps, my Soundblaster sound card.
