No Sound Board Detected

A clean install of Yoper 3.1.

Via 8235 sound board works on the 5 other distro's installed on this computer.

(No response from Yoper forums).

No sound hardware is detected.

1. What command do I use to scan my system for the via 8235?
2. When it is located how do I install services so it will work?

'lspci -vv | grep audio', 'lspci -vv | grep Audio',
'lspci -vv' to see if more chips are involved.

'find /lib/modules -name *via82*'

should print something like this
/lib/modules/2.6.xx../kernel/sound/pci/snd-via82xx-modem.ko.gz
/lib/modules/2.6.xx../kernel/sound/pci/snd-via82xx.ko.gz
/lib/modules/2.6.xx../kernel/sound/oss/via82cxxx_audio.ko.gz

'lsmod | grep snd' to see modules in use.

... Please check sound volume settings, alsamixer or similar.
And is "Master" and "PCM" muted or unmuted ??
