No response in specified timeout. when gammu --getallsms


I installed gammu configured it, and it was working as expected until this afternoon. I switched of my computer for lunch after turning it on gammu --getallsms is not working it is giving me this error
"No response in specified timeout. Probably phone not connected." I have tried rebooting the system it is not working but gammu --identify
is identifying the device

it was a problem with the sim card I was using changed the sim card and it worked
