Question No remote Telneting and no Apache

I just full installed Red Hat 7.0, and I can't logon from a remote terminal using telnet or see the default Apache page using a web browser from windows.

I can however, see this web page using Netscape at the server's console using KDE but I get a connection refuse when trying to telnet from the console.

Thanks in advance, I am sorry if this question is too trivial, but Ive just stated using Linux and as all of you know, it can be a pain in the ass when you dont know all the tricks.

i had a similar problem and solved it by going to KDE control panel and opening "services". there you can specify what services you want to be started at boot.

have you used netstat to see if the services are even running? or nmapped yourself?

that solved it for me - you may also have to configure hosts.allow and hosts.deny...
