no prompt for root password when program requires su privileges
It used to happen that if I ran a program (e.g. guarddog, gnome-xgl-settings)
as a normal user it would prompt me to enter the root password if I wanted to change a setting that required superuser privileges. For some reason, the prompt will no longer appear. The only way then to make the changes is to actually run the program as user root. I've tried both from kde and gnome and it doesn't work on either. Unfortunately, I don't know when this problem started so I'm finding it difficult to track down what may have caused it. I'm using SuSE 10.1. Thanks |
Make sure su is suid root. If it is, then I don't know why it's not working.
