no OpenFT

OpenFT stopped working for me. i recompiled giFT using the options: --with-OpenFT and --with-FastTrack, then i compiled the 2 plugins and did the gift-setup. FastTrack works (and Gnutella does, too), but i'm not getting any users showing up for openft. i had some software changes recently, i wonder if i'm missing a library or something (e.g., berkely database 4 was needed for fasttrack, etc.) zlib is installed, but maybe not zlib-devel -- do i need that? is there any way to see error messages for the plugins? i can't figure out what's wrong.

I find OpenFT drops in and out. Do you ever get any search results from it? Right at this moment I have 1054 OpenFT users. I've heard the develpoer moan about there being a lack of search nodes. Maybe you have a search-node-vacuum near you.

You shouldn't need to supply those options. Just compile gift and plugins then run gift-setup. If you're wondering what other libraries you may be missing, then look at the config.log file after running ./configure.

Okay, that could be easy or impossible to solve...

Try this:
=> Replace your ~/.giFT/OpenFT/nodes by another nodefile (the dafault ones?) - enter a node wich you know it is connected to the OpenFT Network (a friend or so :-) )

=> Check your firewall/router settings ... are your OpenFT Ports blocked? see ~/.giFT/OpenFT/OpenFT.conf for details

=> Wich Version do you use?

Actually I forgot that it might be your nodes. If you want a fullish list of nodes then look here.
