No More CD-ROM

I recently downloaded the iso files for RHL 7.2 and installed via my hard drive. Everything went fine after I started the install program in "expert" mode.

Odd side effect though. RHL refuses to access my CD drive now. Anyone know a way to force this? I already know about fstab and, yes, it is there. When I try to mount it states
/dev/cdrom invalid block device

It states some variant of this error no matter how I attempt to mount the drive, ie:
mount /dev/cdrom
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom
ect., ect., ect....

The system does list hdc as being my ATAPI CD-ROM in the dmesg file.

The system used to have RHL 6.0 which found and used the drive just fine.
The only partition that still exists from 6.0 is /home, everything else was reformatted during the 7.2 installation.

I didn't perform an "upgrade" from 6.0 to 7.2. Rather, I did a custom install to ensure everything old died.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

As root, run depmod -ae and see if that fixes it.

Thumbs up

Thank you. I knew, this being Linux, it would be something as simple as that
