No Modem with Mandrake 8.1

I upgraded my Micron 266Mhz from Mandrake 8.0 to 8.1. Everything seamed to go smoothly, but when I tried to use the modem (US Robotics 56k Fax Int PnP), I get the message "Sorry, the modem is busy"

I have checked the modem setting, and it claims to be /dev/ttyS1, which would be consistent with the COM2 setting I use for Windoz 98, and that works just fine. Also it worked under 8.0.

If I run Harddrake, there is no information listed under modem.

Any help would be appreciated
