No JVM could be found in my system-+
 
hi,

im using RedHat 9 and also i want to run some window based application.
For that i installd wine. After running my window based application ie .exe file, it is giveing

"No JVM could be found on your system. Please define EXE$J_JAVA_HOME to point to an intalled JDK or JRE"

and in background it is giving like thie type of error

fixme:ver:VERSION_GetLinkedDllVersion Unknown EXE OS version 4.0, please report

wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000b), starting debugger...
err:dbghelp_msc:pdb_process_internal -Unable to peruse .PDB file

and i installed jdk-1.3 .

plz can anybody suggest wht i have to do to overcome this error

hi sir,

im using
java version "1.3.1_13"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1_13-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_13-b03, mixed mode)

Right - but that command tells us which area of your $PATH java is residing in.

yes sir i set java in .bash_profile
JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.3

From the error message, WINE wants $J_JAVA_HOME defined... so try this:
Code:

export J_JAVA_HOME $JAVA_HOME
and if that doesnt work...
Code:

export EXE\$J_JAVA_HOME $JAVA_HOME
