No inbox or synchronized mail in evolution when offline

I'm using ximian evolution 1.2.2-4 in RH9. I'm very happy about evolution, except that i can't get its offline function to work. I have two imap folders. Both inboxes of these folders i've marked as an offline folder. When i go offline, evolution synchronizes the mail. (I can actually go to the evolution folder in my homefolder and read the synchornized mail in a terminal.) But, when I start evolution offline, the inboxes for the imap folders have dissapeared. What's more if I try to read messages in other offline (imap) folders (like `sent'), I can see the list of messages, but when i try to read one, I get: "error while retrieving message 11': you must be working online to complete this operation."
Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is it a bug? Or did I do something wrong?
