no icons in apollon

I've installed apollon version 0.89 and then uninstalled and updeted to 0.9 both of them work great, however, icons aren't shown in either, it only displays the 'unknown' icon (you know that square with the '?' symbol? instead of the tray icon and the networks icons (gnutella, opnenapster, kazaa,etc). Icons for apollon are already installed on /usr/local/kde/share/icons where i think they belong, maybe i'm wrong, and i can acces to them as a regular user.
During the installation i did the regular proceed:
./configure
make
su
<password>
make install

and as i said before, Apollon is conecting and working fine, but is kind awful to watch it incomplete

any thoughts to solve this???
