No fonts with WineX

I have installed wineX and now having some issues. When I try to load WinMX it loads it but in some areas the font is missing. This is what I get in the console:

john@xxxxxxxxxx:~/c/Program Files/WinMX$ wine WinMX.exe
Could not stat /home/john/.wine/%HOME% (No such file or directory), ignoring drive F:
err:font:Fontconfig_Init Fontconfig support was not compiled in at compile time.
err:font:FTAlias_FindBestBuiltins Could not create alias for serif fonts
Unable to find a sufficient number of fonts available to FreeType.
FreeType will not be loaded as a result.
FreeType could not be loaded.
This is not necessarily a fatal error, however some
applications require FreeType to be installed and
may not function or display text correctly otherwise.
Please consult the WineX Font FAQ for more details
about this problem

Have u installed the standard Arial, Times New Roman and other fonts?? if yes, then try putting them into the Fonts folder of the fake windows directory created by wine.

what version of winMX is it ?
as of version 3.31 i know there is no need for installing fonts ...
unless they changed something in more recent versions ? (that is if there is a newer version) ...

p.s. why are you putting yourself through this ?
there are mannnnnnnnnnnnnny p2p apps in linux, making this venture of yours absolutly pointless ...
here is a list of a couple hundred p2p apps for linux ....

well then like i said, don't bother putting youreself through this, and just use a linux native p2p app ...
the only thing that comes to mind is an incomplete wine install ...
but if you still wanna waste your time, then a page like this may help or you can simply find a site like this which is for a specific font, in this case marlett ...
and just type :
wine fontname.exe

copy the arial and times fronts from windows install to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1 and run fc-cache as root.
