No Codec's for Acidrip?
Hello
I just installed all packages and compiled mplayer and acidrip successfull, but when I start the gui of Acidrip, I can't choose a codec for coding a dvd as it's on the pic: http://wislig.dyndns.org/1.png What are the codec's I have to install? I've installed lame, lame-devel, transcode.... Did I forget anything? This issue occurs on a 400MHz Pentium2 with RedHat9 ... |

How did you install the codecs and where are they?
|
sounds like you don't have mplayer installed... or it's not on your path. as ths is my bit of kit, i'm happy for you to privately email the debug log for offsite help. but essentially, you should close the app, and in the terminal that you opened it in, type "mencoder -ovc help" this is *exactly* what acidrip does to populate the list.

Firstly thanks for your replies...
Code:
mencoder -ovc help mplayer was compiled with "--enable-gui"... And the codecs (all that are listed on the page) were installed as it's described here. You see, lavc, divx4 is installed, ... now I just have to integrate that in codecs.conf, but how? |
I re-compiled mplayer with different additional packages and by entering "mencoder -ovc help", mplayer gave the same output as listed above.
Still I can't select any codec in acidrip, hmmmmm, but I'm sure, they are installed! Can anyone please give me an advise howto solve that? Has it something to do with the "codecs.conf"-file? |
ignore the codecs stuff.. that's a total red herring.
the fact that you get that output from mencoder means that acidrip should have a dropdown saying Code:
copy |
./configure --debug isn't the issue, cause it's perl "perl Makefile.PL"...? How can I debug that? edit: I tried now some things with "perl -d Makefile.PL" but sorry... I'm too dumb for knowing what I'm doing there, I'm not an application developer...hmmm... is there maybe a single command that would help you finding a bug? thanks. |
there is a debug button on acidrip. press it.

trickykid, you just brought me to an idea:
PATHS I'm sorry, that's embarassing for me. AcidKnewbie and others just wasted their time with treating my problem...SSOORRYY I added "/usr/local/bin" to the PAth-Variable and it runs well. I AM SORRY AND THANKS... :newbie: :Pengy: :tisk: the small things make the world go round... but I know it for the next time...(shame on me). |
