no CD burner, and java not working FC2

i was wondering if theres any way i can get FC2 to recognize my burner in the updated kernel.

also i have java installed, i would assume. i ran the RPM. i have the plugins in the folder. i have the little enable java box checked in my mozilla browser, and still no java. im a little confused by this.

and as weird as it sounds i have *some* flash compatability. (ie i can go to www.roundtablepizza.com and see the animation. but at the same time i cannot see the site at www.greenday.com

also while im thinking about it. are there any good video players for FC2 and where might i find them?

How do you know it doesnt recognize?
try
ls /dev/hd[a-z]

example output:
if you have 2 hard disks and one writer it will display three devices!

Are you sure that all dependencies of k3b are there! Does it complain about anything other the device?

What's your kernel version? If you are using a 2.4 kernel then you'll have to use scsi emulation. Did you link the correct plugin? It's the 1 under ns610-gcc32
