No ~/.wine/config ?
Okay, this should be a really simple, easy thing, but I don't see a config file in /home/[me]/.wine even with ls -la.
All instructions for using programs with Wine tell me to alter the ~/.wine/config file and it's not there! Help! |
If you installed wine from a package (I see you're using Fedora core) it may not automatically make the .wine directly. I know that in Mandrake I ran into that problem.
The easiest solution is looking for a wine configuration utility. The one that I used to use was winesetuptk. |
No, .wine is there, with:
dosdevices drive_c system.reg userdef.reg user.reg but there's no config. I "yum remove" -ed the copy of wine that came with the distro and installed from the wine-20050111-[...].rpm file. Where would I get a winesetuptk? And would I want to use it? I've read not to. |

Well, no, it didn't. Thanks, though.
For those who google this in the future, or have the same question, this is what I did. I copied the ~/documentation/config file found in the source tar.gz file and placed it in the ~/.wine folder. It was that simple. -Kabuso |
