nm-applet is slow and sometimes does not work
 

Hi,

I have installed Fedora 8 and am using the nm-applet to connect wirelessly to my provider via a wireless network modem.

Installation is fine and even automatically raises nm-applet 0.7.0 and connects to the modem. Everything seems to be working fine until . . .

What happens is that I can be in the middle of a download and then it just stops. Like I was looking at an hour long video from youtube.com and after 35 minutes of downloading the video while I was watching nm-applet just stopped working. I know as I am monitoring it with Network Monitor 2.12.1. This monitor tells me that nm-applet goes to "Idle" in the middle of a download.

At other times I can be browsing, put in a common address and the browser just sits there with nm-applet in "idle" nothing happening. Then for no apparent reason, after clicking on the reload button, it comes to life and works extremely fast and well only to find that the next address is also a problem.

Is this a problem anyone has experienced? How can this be overcome? Or is this a bug I need to report?
