I just found this thread at the bottom of a fresh NFS thread. Since you only made one post, and it was never answered, it stands to reason you never returned to LQ. But that could be an incorrect assumption.
However, your lack of information in the thread would preclude most guys from even trying to answer. My one guess who be that you never started the portmapper daemon. Should you ever forget this, you will still be able to mount a NFS export, but it will take forever for the mount command to return to the prompt (if you run the mount command in a console) or continue the boot process. It would appear that your kernel was hung, unless you waited until it finally mounted the share.
