newly installed firefox in gnome

Hi everyone,
I am using Debian Sarge rc03, and I just installed Firefox 1.0.2.
I installed it under /usr/lib and after I finished installing, I can't find any access for it. Later, I found out a file in the place I installed it "firefox" it's a shell script file. I can use it if I click that, is there anywhere to make it a icon just like the default Mozilla-Firefox? Is this a menu thingy issue?

Thanks in Advance!

What I did was just took the shell script your talking about and created a shortcut to it on my desktop...havn't figured out how to give it an icon yet though

Assuming you are using KDE to create an icon on your desktop do the following:
1. Right-click your mouse on the desktop
2. A selection box will show up.
3. Roll your mouse over "Create New" (another sub-menu opens)
4. Roll over "File" (another sub-menu will open)
5. Click on "Link to Application"
6. A new box will open with three tabs: General, Permissions and Application.
7. On General use the text box to type "Firefox 1.0.2"
8. Click on Application now.
9. On the "Description type: Firefox 1.02
10. On the command use the "Browse" button to browse to your firefox start script and select it.
11. Click OK

Now you have an icon for firefox on the desktop.

Hope this helps

Rick

Thanks guys, I am using Gnome, and I right click on the launch panel, it says create icons or something, I just click it and find the firefox shell script. And now I have a firefox icon on the launch panel
