Newbie need help with Pure FTPd
 

hi
I had just installed Pure FTPd in an attmept to setup a Ftp server.
I had tried ProFTPd and it was too hard to configure, even with webmin.
When i want to configure Pure ftp, it get stuck.
i type in this at Konsole:
cd /usr/local/sbin
then:
pure-ftpd -h
it shows a lot of commands.
then:
pure-ftpd --antiwarez
This nothing happens
even the usual [username@myconputer folder] doesn't come back!
What's wrong now?
Question 2:
Had anyone got PureGui the gui of pure ftp to work?
I download the tar.bz2 and tried to compile and stuff.
But i don't even have a binary.
Any help will be appreciated.

It looks everything's correct. The server starts. To make it start into the background run it this way:
pure-ftpd --antiwarez &

BTW Usually you need more options (my start command is more than one line long).

I have the exact same problem with pureftp -- it freezes..even with pure-ftpd --antiwarez & Also, I was unable to find the gui for it, although theres a gui package for it in their website under "Third Party software" link
