Have you checked out 'urpmi' (man urpmi)? It is supposed to help with the dependicies.
Are you wanting to use the mail program Pine, the editor Pico or both?
If you are just wanting a simple editor both Nano (a Pico clone) and 'jpico' (run the Joe editor in Pico mode) work well.
Don't forget to use '-w' (no wordwrap) for system files.

There's an Intel RPM of the pico package available here, with a links to all the required RPM packages.

http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/conecti...-1cl.i386.html

If you use the rpm command to install these all at once, it should (stress SHOULD) install fairly painlessly :P
