Newbie for Redhat 9... Fatal Sys Error
I think this error is due to the monitor configuration. When installing Rh9 it did not recognize the monitor and the horizontal and vertical values where display but when trying to get to X window, it doesn't go thru and gives me the error.. I'm using Rad-eon 9000 128... I also tried the startx and it didn't work.. any advice or guide will be appreciated!

run the x configurator and enter the horizontal and vertical frequencies manually after you figure out the correct values (i.e. looking at manufactures site if you don't know already) if you think that this is indeed the culprit

I have no idea about the the horizontal and vertical frequencies. I have an old monitor (RIC 555)... how can I find that?

does it mean that if linux doesn't detect the monitor's configuration, it won't work?

It will work pretty happily in text mode. For graphics, it needs some special attention and TLC during the initial stage.
