newbie: fail2ban startup problem

centos 6.2 server with fail2ban-0.8.2-3.el6.rf.noarch

I followed the instructions here:
http://www.fail2ban.org/wiki/index.php/Sendmail
to get fail2ban working with sendmail, but when I restarted fail2ban I get:
Starting fail2ban: /usr/share/fail2ban/server/filter.py:430: DeprecationWarning: the md5 module is deprecated; use hashlib instead
import md5

google doesn't have much info on this. What does it mean and how do I solve it?
ps: I registered with the community portal at fail2ban,org but couldn't see any way to post a query.

well it says "warning" so it shouldn't matter, that wouldn't stop fail2ban running.

yum install gave me this version, and does not offer an upgrade.

thanks for the link but there's no 0.8.6 I can see there.
The latest I see is fail2ban-0.8.2-3.rf.src.rpm, which is the same version that yum gave me

edit: it's ok, I got it from:
https://github.com/fail2ban/fail2ban/downloads
