Newbie & Dual Boot System

Before venturing into the unknown (for me that is), I thought I'd seek advise from those more experienced with Linux (Suse 10).

I am considering installing Suse 10 on my PC to distance myself from the blue screen, trojan horses, viruses, etc. I have two hard drives on my PC, one of them will be used for Suse 10. When installing SUSE, will the the installation automatically format the hard drive? What do I need to do in order to make the PC a dual boot system? Will Suse take care of this for me? As you can see, I am at a total loss on what to do. Would appreciate any advise, help in getting started.

In advance, thanks to those who volunteer their time to respond.

suse should do EVERYTHING. It will make partitons on the second harddrive. All you have to do is tell it which harddrive to install it on and it will work away. It will also install a boot loader like grub or lilo which will enable you to dual boot. It should be configure automatically. Just go into BIOS and set the boot order so that it boots from cd. put the boot disc in your cd drive and restart the computer. Followe the on screen directions from there.
