New Wine Brings more Steam goodness
 

Hey guys, I just installed the new Wine20040213. And i noticed that when booting up steam, the login does not allow you to input your account info. so i clicked on "Create Account" then "Cancel" and then i was able to log in. I then went into Counter-strike and now im getting around 35fps compared to the 15fps i was getting with 20031212. just thought you CS fanatics should know. :) Have a nice day!

p.s. what do i do if i want to uninstall this new version of wine?

If you installed it from .rpm, you need to open up YaST and do it from there. If you compiled from source, go to the source directory and type "make uninstall"

well ya, i downloaded and installed the rpm....and seems like wine is improving....Although Nero Express still dosent install with wine...I think Nero Burning ROM is a very widely used application and the wine makers should get Nero to work with wine..Then I can at least avoid my Win 98 box easily....( I know Linux has few CD writing apps, but my favourite is Nero )..but in all, wine is definitely getting better and better......
