new to LQ.org

Greetings to all,

I am a new convert from Dos 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, 6.22, win 3.0, 3.11, 95, 98, NT, 2K, XP, etc.......(sorry) to rh 8.0.

Since I probably know less than nothing about linux, this forum seems to be a friendly learning environment.
(I did, however, configure eth0 to work with my rr cable modem) {zzzzz}.

Any suggestions of websites for one just learning linux will be most appreciated.

Cordially,

David

One of the links in my sig are sometimes good for newbies. I usually suggest checking out the tutorial over at www.linux.org This will help you learn the filesystem structure in linux, along with basic commands. The other common suggestion I give is to just read through the threads. Find something to focus on (let's say Desktop Environments) and do a search here on it. Here's the link to the search function (and it's located at the top of each page as well):
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/search.php

The google page for linux is: www.google.com/linux so if you can't find something here and wanna search elsewhere, that's where I go.

Welcome to LQ

Btw, my name is Chad, and as it might be noticeable, I am here all the time, hence, LQ Addict

Cool
