New to apache
Hello everyone.
I'm going to be diving into Apache and was hoping to get some suggestions on where to begin. 1.) Any recommended books that would help learning apache (most likely, 2.0 is what I will be using, but wont hurt to learn 1.3 as well). I have a corporate account to buy some books and plan to do so today. 2.) How about links, that have tutorials and such to get started with apache? ANy other info is highly recommended as well? Thanks. Tarballed |
1. The O'Reily books are good. I also have a book called Administering Apache: Craig Hunt Series which was really good. Not sure if it was exact name but its the Craig Hunt series. Mainly covered 1.3.x series before 2.0.X came out.
2. Usually the documentation at httpd.apache.org always answers my questions or doubts when running across something. I'd say bookmark them and get familiar with their layout on their site. Always a good reference. |
If you are looking for a good LAMPs tutorial try:
http://lamps.efactory.de/e-index.shtml Apache isn't that hard. Before you try to configure anything make sure that it doesn't just work out of the box. A lot of people change things that they don't need to. |
