New SATA stops me booting.

I have one ide disk which has xp + Linux and dual booting worked fine. But then I added a sata disk and can't boot into Linux unless I disable it in BIOS. Linux seems to be detecting the sata disk as hda and the ide disk as hde. I can't see how I can force Linux to swap them around. Any help gratefully received.

Mandrake 10.0, AMD 3200+ , MSI 6741 MoBo. ide and sata drives are ntfs.
