New mail in Thunderbird ?

Hello,

what do I need and/or how do I configure Thunderbird so that it prevents me about new mail ? I want to keep its window minimized and to get informed by some "event"

Thanks in advance

You could set it to play a sound when you get a new mail. If you run KDE, kbiff will sit in your system tray and notify you when you get new mail.

There is a package called mail-notification.i386 . If you install and setup mail notification, it will let you know when new mail has arrived. You can click on the new mail icon which will open up thunderbird.

Theres is also a simple program called pop3check (sourceforge.net)
I have this run as cron job every 30 mins
