There is a new Document signing, authentication and others features software based on the use of digital certificates using pkcs#12, pkcs#11 and many more containers develped in java by ESLE (Free Software enterprises asociation in the Basque Country) and sponsored by free software enterprises.

As you can read from this extract of their web site:What is sinadura?

"The package offers a service to generate electronic invoices through digital sign of PDF's. It consists in a multiplatform aplicattion with the additional value of a community who offers documentation and services.

The object of the project results from an uncovered need in the current open-source developments, the possibility of making the process of e-factura using free software tools and mainly in Linux Desktop and pretends to grow in functionality and service.

Features of the version 1.0

Manage identities

Suported formats:
PKCS11 – Smartcard (Izenpe, DNIe...)
PKCS12 – Software (F.N.M.T., ...)
Aditional identities are stored.
All passwords are encrypted to keep them secure.


Sign details

Supported formats: PDF
Posibility to add PDF417 barcode.
It's posible to make the stamp visible.
Multi-language (English, Spanish and Basque)


Additional features

Time stamping (TSA) to certificate de sign date.
Preferences based cutomization.
