So just down to knowing the process name for all to use "sevice <process name> status" or "ps -A | grep <process name>" to find the actual "running" process and yes after install, and for some installs also configuration, the process "start" command will be used. My server will be running:

1. Informix,
2. Ingres,
3. MS-SQL,
4. MySQL,
5. Oracle,
6. PostGres,
7. SQLite,
8. Sybase/SQL Anywhere,

To support our developers, Enterprise Modules and the projects we undertake for clients. Yup we develop for all these, which is easy with Enterprise Modules.

I think I only gave a partial list when I opened this thread!

Sqlite isn't a running process.
