Netscape and Java

I downloaded the Java runtime environment from java.sun.com and "installed" it, but netscape will not see the plugin at all. I tried to put symbolic links in the following folders, but it still doesn't work:

/usr/local/netscape/plugins/
/usr/lib/netscape/plugins/
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
<home>/.netscape/plugins/
<home>/.netscape6/plugins/

The wierd thing is, is that Konqueror will see and run java fine, but netscape will not. Why isn't netscape seeing it?

Have you turned on Java in Netscape and/or Mozilla?
