Hi, I'm a newbie with redhat linux I have been trying to install netscape 7.0 with a cd-rom but when the netscape installer icon shows and I click on it and all I get is:Cannot find program "netscape install". The install instructions say to change directory on cd to cd linux, and then to change to directory that contains the netscape install files cd netscape install
Being a newbie and lame, can anyone tell me how to change these files and directories, thank you
Ok, sorry for the inadequate response. I am not sure of your level of experience, so sorry if this is dummied down, or up.
I think RH 7.3 has supermount installed by default so...
Insert your CD, then open up a terminal and type:
cd /mnt/cdrom
ls (LS lowercase)
and see if you see a directory for Netscape, if so:
cd X (where X is the name of the netscape directory)
IF no directory, but the install file is listed:
./install file
ty Master C but I found that when in root I have to manually mount my cd, using KDisk free I mounted and opened the linux file from there and that put me into a Mozilla window. Clicked tools and opened terminal there, did the ./netscape-install thing Got the install wizard and it went in
